Pampus round
The unique swimming event Rondje Pampus, which swimming in open water around Forteiland Pampus, is spectacular for both recreation and competition swimmers. A sporting challenge while enjoying the vastness around you, wind, waves and water. Because nature you experience in the water!
Participants in Rondje Pampus make a contribution to a good nature goal with part of the registration fee. Last year, for example, the recovery of the bird islands in the De Lepelaarplassen nature reserve in Almere was helped. This year too, part of the registration fee will be donated to a study or project that contributes to keeping the IJsselmeer vital and healthy.
Rondje Pampus takes place on and around the unique Fort Island Pampus. Pampus (Official Fort on the Pampus) is a fort island in the part of the IJmeer that belongs to the municipality of Gooise Meren. The artificial island was constructed in 1887 as part of the Stelling van Amsterdam to defend De Vaargeul Pampus against attacks from the Zuiderzee.
The 11th edition of the Rondje Pampus Swimming Event takes place on Saturday, July 30, 2022. You can register for 1 round, 2 laps or 3 laps swimming around Forteiland Pampus. One round of swimming around Pampus is 900 meters. The start date of the registration period will soon be announced on social media and the Website of Rondje Pampus.
