Our entire stock is online. That means that we have no products in a hidden corner. Every day we walk through the stock to keep this up-to-date and yet it can happen that we miss out. We will always contact us and offer an alternative (or possibly afterwards as soon as it is inside).

The stock is not huge and we do that consciously. How so? By having a smaller stock, we ensure that our stock is always equipped with the most recent and a long shelf life date. This way we ensure a rapid change of our products.

Did you know that you can also see the minimum expiration date of the products. Is there nothing to it? Then the product can be kept for at least 2 months. A THT date does not say much in sports nutrition, because the effect, taste and composition of the product only changes very slowly. Often you can use it for months (and sometimes years) after the indicated THT date.

 Maurten Bicarb System

The Maurten Bicarb System is an advanced sports nutrition that helps athletes push the limits of effort and strength during intense training. The system includes a mixing bowl, the hydrogel component, the bicarb component and access to the Bicarb Digital System.

AthleteSportsWorld is exclusive triathlon and endurance sports partner for the sale of the Maurten Bi-Carb system in the Netherlands. The products can only be purchased or picked up in store (click and collect). The Maurten Bi-Carb is not shipped because we want to make sure every athlete gets the right advice.

The Maurten Bicarb System does for bicarbonate what Maurten Gel 100 and Drink Mixes did for carbohydrates - using Hydrogel Technology to encapsulate the bicarbonate and make high doses tolerable for athletes.

Lactic acid is not the enemy - it is a fuel source generated during intense anaerobic exercise. It is the increase in acidity during these efforts that overwhelms the muscles and leads to exhaustion. Large doses of sodium bicarbonate neutralize the negative effects of increasing acidity, but there has always been a catch - stomach problems that negate performance improvements.

The Bicarb System cracks the code to deliver the smoothest and most effective bicarb experience ever.

The Maurten Bicarb System has different serving sizes - 12, 15, 19, 22 and 25. It is not a one-size-fits-all. The right serving is determined by the athlete's weight and bicarb experience. In general, the heavier, the larger the serving. But without experience, more doesn't necessarily mean better - you have to train your gut.

Component A - Bowl The Maurten Bicarb System bowl is designed for precise and optimal mixing and serving. It is printed with clear instructions, is large enough to be held with one hand and has a screw cap for travel and storage.

Component B - Hydrogel History in the making. The hydrogel component builds on our years of extensive hydrogel research to create a specially formulated hydrogel that protects sodium bicarbonate from stomach acid and allows easy swallowing without chewing. Each serving contains 40g of carbohydrates to fuel athletes before their race or session.

Component C - Bicarbonate So minute, it's huge. The bicarbonate component contains breakthrough mini bicarbonate tablets that provide much better control. They provide a slower release of bicarbonate into the intestines - which can both help reduce stomach problems and extend the duration of the bicarbonate effect.

Preparation is key - and getting bicarbonate right requires thinking ahead. The optimal time frame for a dose of the Bicarb System is 1-2 hours after a meal, such as breakfast, and 1.5-2 hours before starting intense training or competition. Each Maurten Bicarb System includes a QR code to unlock the Bicarb Digital System - created by our in-house nutrition scientists to make it intuitive to plan, prepare and execute a bicarb session or race.
